AMEC: Arbutus is providing support on the Northern Gateway Pipeline Project in environment and Aboriginal engagement.
The Enbridge Northern Gateway Project involves the construction and operation of twin pipelines running approximately 1,173 kilometres from Bruderheim, Alberta to a new marine terminal in Kitimat, BC. One 36-inch, 525,000 bpd pipeline, will carry export petroleum west, and a second 20-inch, 193,000 bpd pipeline, will carry import condensate east. Arbutus is focused in two areas related to the project. One is Environmental Support, Aboriginal Relations for the Central BC Region, in the Northwest to Kitimat and on the coast. Arbutus is also working with Enbridge to develop an Aboriginal Training, Employment and Business Opportunities strategy mapping out the potential for economic opportunities for Aboriginal peoples all along the Right-of-Way. www.amec.com
